LORO PARQUE – Informations

Dear Collaborators,
Conscious of the great work that the tourism industry in Tenerife is making to maintain the best results at every level, LORO PARQUE is taking the same view and will NOT raise their prices this summer, as we have already communicated in recent weeks. This means that we keep prices unchanged, the same as last season. Great news that we are sure will be well received by everyone. For LORO PARQUE, continuous improvement, innovation and the highest quality at all levels are unavoidable
commitments. That is why we would like to inform you that we need to carry out urgent maintenance work in the orca pools between 4th May and 17th June (both dates inclusive), which means the closure of Orca Ocean and the postponement of the shows during those dates.
LORO PARQUE, recently recognized as the very best zoo in Europe and #3 in the world by TripAdvisor, continues to introduce new attractions which, together with the existing ones, will carry on surprising and delighting everyone.
· ‘RIO’, THE 3D Experience The project for the conservation of Spix’s macaw, a pioneering initiative at global level and with the object of saving this wonderful species from extinction, has been supported by LORO PARQUE for more than twenty years already and later by LORO PARQUE FUNDACIÓN as key institutions in their support and funding. The film, RIO, adapts this story using cinematic language in an enjoyable, exciting and spectacular manner into an exclusive version in 3D for LORO PARQUE, which can be enjoyed in our cinema Naturavision from 1st May, 2015.
· AQUAVIVA a new and spectacular exhibit of colourful jellyfish, which without doubt is one of the best and biggest ever seen in the world.
· ANIMAL EMBASSY reflects the contribution that Loro Parque and Loro Parque Fundación have made to a world that is, more and more, under increasing pressure to stop the environmental damage caused by humans. Through large windows visitors can observe the work of scientists in both the clinic and in the latest generation laboratory. Following the line of research of Wolfgang Koehler, who became famous for his research on primates whilst living in Puerto de la Cruz, we are proud to announce that the Max Planck Institute has here its research and cognitive study of parrots and their behaviour.
In LORO PARQUE you will find the largest and most diverse reserve of parrots in the whole world. In addition to that and, thanks to the untiring and dedicated work of our caregivers, veterinarians and specialists, we are experiencing a real ‘Baby Boom’ with the birth of new sea lions, penguins and river otters, etc.
Thank you for the confidence and unconditional support you have shown us over all these years, we hope that together we will have a very successful summer season.
